Andrew S. Brown is the Founder and President of Career Ventures Counseling Services, Inc., a private practice firm located in Boston, MA. Areas of expertise include individual career counseling and executive coaching, outplacement, testing and assessment, and personality exploration. A specialty of Andrew’s is: providing individualized and group career planning and management to adults with Attention Deficit Disorder.

Since 1993, Mr. Brown has counseled and coached individuals on career change and transition, and job search strategy. His background in psychotherapy, as well as the real estate development and construction industries has proven extremely helpful for breaking through blocks to professional development and growth.

Mr. Brown’s individual style is a therapeutic—yet focused, driven approach. His coaching style is derived from his years of experience in the field of psychotherapy, and teaching in the field of specials needs education. As a career counselor at Salem State College for five years, Mr. Brown provided career counseling, coaching, and support services to graduate, alumni, and non-traditional continuing education students. Through the public schools he has also participated in the Let’s Get Real program, developed to help teenagers transition themselves into the workplace.

In addition Mr. Brown’s professional experience includes working in the construction/property development industry for 10 years as a General Manager. There he had the opportunity to work with various professionals (Architectural Firms, General Contractors and Sub-Contractors). He also worked with the construction trade unions and became involved in trade union contract negotiations and employee labor disputes. For two years he worked as an Educational Consultant representing children with special needs.

Mr. Brown’s holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Springfield College, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Lyndon State College. He holds licenses as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Certified Social Worker, Guidance Certification, and is an appointed Notary Public. Professional and Executive Board affiliations include: President of the Association of Career Professionals International (ACPI) - Boston Chapter, Executive Board Member and Membership Chair to (SPAN) Special Needs Advocacy Network, sits on the Board of Directors and oversees the Human Resource Committee for Boston Senior Home Care, previous Executive Board Secretary to the Private Practice Colloquium, and holds Professional Memberships to (CHADD) Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder, ADD Resources, and the North Shore Technology Council.
